After centuries of war and violence today Storm region is one of the most peaceful regions in Hungary.<\/h2>\n

The name “Storm region” is an approximate translation of the Hungarian term “viharsarok” (“storm corner”), a historical name indicating south-east (e.g. B\u00e9k\u00e9s county) of Hungary.<\/p>\n

\"Viharsarok\"The name, which is still used with pride by people living in the region south of river K\u00f6r\u00f6s, dates back to the 19th century. B\u00e9k\u00e9s and Csongr\u00e1d comitatus (county), and the later integrated counties of Arad, Csan\u00e1d, Toront\u00e1l were loud of fights, revolutions and their repressions and strikes. Starting from the second half of the 20th century the area became quiet, nowadays the county is really peaceful as its name suggests. (\u201eb\u00e9k\u00e9s\u201d means peaceful)

In contemporary sense Stormregion is a geographic area comprising Orosh\u00e1za, B\u00e9k\u00e9scsaba, Mez\u0151kov\u00e1csh\u00e1za as well as Mez\u0151hegyes and its surroundings, in a way it is the south-eastern corner of the country, offering numerous sites to be seen for arriving visitors. It is rich of historical and cultural monuments, as well as of natural values. Both lovers of culture and lovers of nature will find the activity and entertainment suiting their specific field of interest. <\/p>\n

It is worth hitting the road and discovering the main cities as well as the hidden places. During a holiday spent at Orosh\u00e1za visitors will not be disappointed if they put on their hiking boots. <\/p>\n
